Page 1 of Converting VHS Sleeves to DVD ?!?

I know this breaks every copyright law in the land .... but .......

I`m currently attempting to convert many of my 20+ year old vhs to dvd via my pc before they finally become completely unwatchable. No problems with this task, however, as an anally retentive completist, I would like to find a way somehow to shrink the original vhs sleeve to dvd size. Is this possible ? Is there perhaps a program to use or is there just a specific reduction in size that I can apply via my scanner ??

Just reducing the size distorts the cover, as the DVD is shorter & fatter than the VHS and the spine area is much wider so wraps round front & back.
What I do is scan into Paint Shop Pro, then create a blank with the dimensions 27.4cm wide by 18.4 cm deep

From an existing DVD cover measure the spine location & width.

Then using cut & paste select the front from the VHS and paste into the apprpriate area on the Blank, if possible cut a bit off the top and/or bottom to minimise deformation, do the same with back & spine

Hi Just go to ...www.cdcovers.cc/covers.php select DVD covers and you can download dvd covers for any film when you have them run up in Paint shop pro or any Photo program and resize them to ...10.60" x 7.25" that`s the right size for DVD case`s ..you can also download the Disk picture if you have a printer that can do CD/DVD disks.

Or instead of resizing them, while yer there download CoverXP and import the picture, select "DVD Cover- FULL" and print.

Also would work with the comments about how to resize with PSP (I[`d recommend that route if you want the original cover for the new disc), but I think it`s really only the spine that needs altered.
