First Time Buyer

Can anyone recommend a reasonably good, cheap, hackable DVD player for a first time buyer?

All replies greatly appreciated.

LG3000, LG3200E, Himage, Wharfedale, Eclipse, Cyberhome to name a few.

Reply back with what features you want and that kind of narrows the field. If you are virgin to DVD, check out the very informative FAQ`s on this site.

Check out the Cyberhome AD-M512, available from Richer Sounds for £120, of from WH Smith for £129. I bought one a month ago. Very happy! This player was recently selling at Jungle.com for £199.

Richer Sounds are charging £20 for the firmware CD you will need to hack it.
But I would not pay that much - the CD is very straightforward to create if you have access to a CD Writer. If you dont, then now might be a good time to get one (I assume you have a PC)

I bought my 512 a few weeks ago and am v happy with it.
