DVD Child Lock

ic (Harmless) posted this on Saturday, 1st January 2005, 08:53

Firstly, A very Happy New Year to all..............

Secondly, does anyone no if child locks exist for DVD players ? I know they do for VCR.

Our toddler is forever switching the dvd player on and off and using the eject button.

Someone has suggested there may be a plastic cover you can buy to put in front of the player, but I can`t find any anywhere.

Please help me save my discs.................

You could:

A unplug it
B turn it round
C put it out of reach

Dont think there is any kind of cover due to the nature of the way a dvd eject`s and if there was it would proberbly cost more than the average dvd player wht not make a simple MDF cover (or any material that matches your decor) that you can put under the front that covers the controls (a big L shape) that would need the front of the dvd to be lifted to be removed :D

There might be a power button on the back - easier than unplugging it (if your socket is in an awkward place) or turning it around every time.

Old Sampo players used to have a hidden child lock (a sequence of keys which blocked the remote control), but it`s not de rigeur these days, I`m afraid.

Moved to hardware.
