If you do decide to give it a go, £119.95 AT Richer Sounds, but don`t buy mult-region upgrade disc, you can download and burn the firmware to CD for free here:

RE: wanted multi regionand macro diabled dvd
Have just bought a Pioneer 535 from Richer Sounds for £199. This has been bought with a chip upgrade that enables multi region viewing, RCE compatable and macrovision off. I am having problems with distorted audio but I think its me rather than the player. What Hi Fi gave it a recommended for audio and vision quality.

They sure do. I bought mine Saturday. On the box is a label for Tridek DVD upgrades and inside is an instruction sheet on what you are able to do with the upgrade

Richer sounds do sell chipped dvd`s, but it will cost you another £50.00.

You dont need to buy a new dvd player as the Scan sc2000 firmware can be upgraded so that you can disable macrovision. Try http://www.geocities.com/scan_group/
