I have bought an external DVD writer for my PC, but after burning a film on a DVD+RW disc I am not able to play it in my DVD player (Toshiba SD-231ESB1) as I get the message "incorrect disc". I would appreciate any advice Thanks

Try burning to a DVD+R.
I quite like the Helpdesk people in a benevolent (as opposed to malevolent) way as they do some valuable work in preventing us being inundated by every halfwit who can work a phone.

I had a similar problem and contacted Toshiba. Apparently they only read DVD-R and some DVD-RW. I`ve heard that this is due to Tosh`s involvment in the creation of the DVD-R format.
