Page 1 of SEG DVDR500

Hi,
I recently purchased the above named dvd recorder and I am really pleased with it.
I have managed to back up films perfectly and watch a number of original and non original dvd`s.
I purchased 2 brand new dvds the other day and attempted to play them tonight, the sound is present but the voices are not!!!!
I have managed to get the disks working on an old dvd player, so the disks themselves are not at fault.

Can anyone offer any tips or solutions???

Possibly its like the bni 1000r and you have to select the sound in the setup going from 5.1 to 2 ch which only affects some discs not all.Your machine might have the same chipset.

I tried changing the audio settings via the audio button on the dvd remote but this just toggled between commentary and another audio channel that was exactly the same.

You will need to go to the machines setup area and find the audio. ok
