NTSC compatible TV? Panasonic hybrid

Nicolas (Harmless) posted this on Sunday, 1st October 2000, 14:15

I have a "Continental Edison CE 7025" TV-set bought about two years ago in a French supermarket, rather cheap. What I`m wondering about is if I will be able to view my R1 disks on it. Is it NTSC compatible? I know it`s both SECAM and PAL since I live in Belgium where the PAL standard is used. This TV contains several Panasonic components.

Thanks

Its probably PAL60 compatible as well. All Panasonics seem to be so there`s no real reason this shouldn`t. Just try fiddling around with the instalation options and see if you can set it to NTSC.

Most Panasonics are NTSC compatible, however the French have some funny ideas so you may be unlucky. One feture you can look for is have you got video tint/tone adjustment this is often required when playing NTSC sources.

The hitachi was a C32WF523N and it had a kink across the top 8th of the screen when i played R1 dvd`s.

Apparently ita a PAL 60 problem but like the phillips which had same problem Hitachi specs claimed it could handle all signals bar secam.

i had to take the dvd player into Granada and hook it up to all their tellys till one clicked.

The panasonic rocks..crystal clear picture.. brilliant auto ratio adjust...its a quintex DK1 32"
