Surprise, surprise !!! The Yelo has the same problems as the Scan !!!
Have just read, on another forum, that the Yelo machine displays subtitles by default on all DVDs .... sound familiar.
It seems to me, therefore, that far from being a superior machine the Yelo is the SAME machine as the Scan (or at least based on the same hardware)
RE: Surprise, surprise !!! The Yelo has the same problems as the Scan !!!
Thats interesting.I will find out from the factory if they manufacture
the yelo. Its highly unlikely as the only other clone machines to the scan
is the daewoo and the manhattan 2000.Like i have mentioned before
the quality control of ALL the manufacturers who make sub £200 players
is limited. The factories profit margins are low and they have to meet
tight dealines so out goes the quality control. In the far east there is
only a handfull of dvd MANUFACTURERS but hundreds of distributors.
Hope fully they shouild have a firmware update by chips or cds.The current batch of sc-2000s does not default to subtitles. The next batch in october any firmware updates can be done by cd downloadable from our website. If the yelo does default to subtitles then my sympathies go out
to inter dvd because ia have been through it with the sc-2000.It wouild
be nice to see a change from the "scan are S**T" posts we have been seeing recently.

RE: Surprise, surprise !!! The Yelo has the same problems as the Scan !!!
Hi Nilesh,
I have never really had any problems with my Scan machine. Maybe my TV isn`t the best model available but I have never had any of the `crappy` picture problems people like IronDuke mentioned.
Also, since I upgraded the firmware the machine has just got even better.
RE: Surprise, surprise !!! The Yelo has the same problems as the Scan !!!
"Ive just got the yelo800dvd for £200 (no delivery hence cheaper price)
that plays most discs you can throw at it,i got it from
www.interdvd.co.uk .If you are after copying to vhs, this is a very good
machine, ive had a samsung 709 but its not a patch on this one,ive just
got rid of a smart 2000 that was pretty poor on taping as well".
This was from a guy in uk.media.dvd called dtsrules

All Budget player`s may have component`s that other`s have inside them as they use pc component`s and not specific designed component`s ask nelley did he have the new mpeg card designed and built for the scan?
HITACHI 505 ROCKS!
Glad to hear youve got your Yelo
Hi IronDuke
I`m still waiting for mine. Its gone 17.30 and the only news Ive heard is an email from InterDVD. Here it is, apparently some need to be modified for multiregion!
Good afternoon,
I am writing with regards to the Yelo 800 DVD player you have purchased
from ourselves. Just prior to shipping the players yesterday we discovered
that this first batch of players are set to play region 2 (UK) discs. Rather
than postponing the deliveries further I made the decision to ship as
discussed with yourself for delivery on Thursday. To open each player
individually would have taken around 3 days and I thought you would rather
receive it before this weekend.
To permanently set the player to auto detect all regions there are a few
simple steps to follow when you first turn the player on.
If you are unsure of how to do this please don`t hesitate to contact either
myself or Paul (Head of Customer Service) on 01706 366 555, we will be
available by telephone upto 8pm this evening.
1. Turn the player on using the `standby` button on your remote control
2. Press `eject` on the remote control
3. Now press `setup` on the remote
4. Now in quick succession press `mute`, `last` then `next` again on the
remote control
5. The player`s menu will now appear in front of you - using your
navigational arrows on the remote scroll down the list of options until you
see `region ID`, highlight `bypass` and press `play`
6. Now press `setup` again on the remote control
7. And finally the most important step is to press `standby` on your remote
control, this will turn the player off and by doing this will save your
player as auto detecting multi-region.
8. Again using your remote turn the player on and enjoy your films.
PLEASE NOTE: You will only need to do this on the first occasion
I sincerely apologise for this inconvenience, once again if you need any
help at all please do not hesitate to call us,
Kind regards,

Is it true that some discs in the near future will be able to detect if the player is multiregion and refuse to play? If so can the Yelo be turned back to Region 2 (UK)???
BTW - If Hitachi 505 Rocks why are you slumming it with the Yelo?
My life is drudgery - How about yours?

RE: Glad to hear youve got your Yelo
For this new macrovision to work, it would make all current r1 & r2 DVD player`s defunct!
I think it is going to be included in future player`s from the likes of sony and toshiba.
BTW - If Hitachi 505 Rocks why are you slumming it with the Yelo?
"There both great player`s"
My life is drudgery - How about yours?
"Not 3 bad, but if it was great I wouldnt be wasting my time posting a reply"

RE: Glad to hear youve got your Yelo
Regarding the yelo does it sill have macrovision enable/disable.

RE: Glad to hear youve got your Yelo
Yes, It still has the macrovision disable option - got mine yesterday. It seems an ok player but the subtitles defaulting to on is annoying and the picture from mine is pretty crap - loads of artifacting on discs like sixth sense. I`m pretty disappointed in it given the rave reviews but that always seems to be the case.
Rave Reviews = Crap Pictures. THE SAME OLD STORY!!!
HANG ON - IVE JUST SEEN THE REVIEW BY "IT Troll". IGNORE MY RANT BELOW: I HAVE TO LET OFF STEAM PERIODICALLY!
IT Trolls FIRST IMPRESSIONS SOUND LIKE IT ROCKS!
I`ve been here before.
As soon as a good review comes out. These firms reduce the quality of their product, I bet intentionally. Either that or they supply a superior machine for the review!!! NB The disclaimer ALWAYS states they may change the specifications as they see fit!
I bought an Akai video recorder that won budget european video of the year award on the strength of the review. 5star picture quality. When I got mine it was more like 1star.
Another review from these pesky "What ****" magazines lead me to buy satellite equipment that I had to return as it was abissmal.
Ignore the "What THE F*CK DO THEY KNOW" magazines. Theyre all bent or just plain stupid.
I havent yet received my yelo (I now hope I never do) but if the picture quality is as s***ty as you state, it`ll be going back with a strong letter to my local trading standards. No one pulls a fast one on me and gets away with it.
ANYONE WHO IS DISAPPOINTED WITH THEIR YELO AND FEELS IT DOES NOT LIVE UP TO THE REVIEW, MUST SEND IT BACK IMMEDIATELY. OTHERWISE YELO WILL BE LAUGHING AT YOU AND P*SSING IN THEIR NEXT MODEL.
What **** and yelo will have to sought it out between them.
At least one is lying to you. 95% and artifacts all over the place. Subtiles on. It obviuously isnt the same machine submitted to the reviewers, is it?
Its all my fault. I should have seen it coming. What **** magazine. Ha-Ha
Ironduke - Keep outta my way for the next few days :)
