put the scart out of my hitachi to the scart in on my liteon records perfect but no sound any clues
Have you tried more than one scart cable?

ive tried the scart with the front connections and get the same result perfect pic no sound is there a specific scart lead i need

Any fully connected scart lead should do the job, but a gold plated ofc (oxygen-free copper) lead will give you better results.
just tried another scart lead all the teeth are there but got the same result
Just out of interest, what disc are you trying to copy? Most manufactured DVDs use MacroVision copy protection.
Also, is your Hitachi an all-in-one Home Theatre system? If so, the scart socket may not output sound. (They do this so you don`t hear your TV`s speakers over the system`s.) If it has a composite (yellow, red and white) output, you can connect "composite out" on your Hitachi to "composite in" on your Liteon. Hope this helps.

tried a few discs with same outcome but it is a home cinema system so i will give it a try a.m with the composite stuff will let you know thanks for your help
tried my other dvd player recorded scart result perfect pic and sound : :D
