DVD-ROM to Mpeg converstion ?

I`ve been told it`s poss` to download software to my PC that will convert DVD to MPEG thus allowing me to copy a DVD-ROM on to CDR. Is this true and where could i find it ?

DivX is much better than MPEG for quality, but you need a lightning system and it is NOT compatible with any DVD players at the moment - Just PC & DVD-ROM drives:
