Multi Region hack is so that you can play DVDs from other countries, EG: Europe is Region 2 USA is Region 1 (I believe), the region hack for the 3305 works perfect, I have got one and done the hack on mine.
Now, the problem you are getting, trying to copy your OF&H tapes onto DVD, the problem is the MACROVISION PROTECTION, there is no macrovision hack for this machine (unless someone knows one, if so I need it pleeeeeeeeeeeeeease).

The only way round it is to buy a special scart lead, with built in electronics to get rid of the macrovision, they can be expensive, but apparently they do work (I have not tried one yet).

Try one of these:

1. Use a scart - 3 phono lead. Plug the scart plug into the VCR and the red/white/yellow phono plugs into the front inputs of the DVDR3305. You`ll need to select the front inputs as the recording source.

2. Connect VCR to DVD via the old-fashioned RF leads and select TUNER as recording input.

#1 is what my parents do when they try to transfer VCR to DVD on their Philips DVDR3305
