Page 1 of LG 3000e v LG 4710
Hardware Forum
Hi everyone. Tesco doing the 3000e at £149.99 with option for full refund under 14 days. Currys got 4710 at same price with 3 free DVD`s thrown in. But I want to know which is the best buy regardless of free offers. Been to the LG site but couldn`t really see an answer. Anyone out there got a 3000e? Thanks.
Hey man
Do you mean the 3200e ?
Anyway, I bought the 4710 about a week ago and it`s a very solid machine. There`s not a great deal of thrills to it, but picture quality and sound are excellent, even if you are just connecting the DVD to your stereo via analogue cables.
Just on that note about sound, note that the 4710 DOES NOT have an optical output cable. This is one of the things that puts some buyers off.
As far as I am aware (and maybe someone can clarify this...), the 3200e has slighter inferior components to that of the 4710, meaning there is a slight difference in picture quality - the 4710 is slightly better.
In any case, £149.99 plus 3 DVDs is a hell of a bargain for the 4710. It`s a solid machine without a great deal of features, picture & sound are great, and there are very few "problem" discs...

Take a look at www.lgdvd.co.uk and go to the FAQ section. It explains that the 3000 and 4710 are both good budget models to go for and they use the same decoder chip.
Thanks for the feedback guys. And yes, I did mean the LG 3000e, but have to say I haven`t seen it anywhere in the flesh, so to speak, It`s on the tesco site but can`t tell wether they actually have any stock. Will aslo check out those FAQ section. Thanks again both.
The LG 3000e definitely exists! I have seen it in my local Tesco for about 125 quid. The price might have changed as it was a month ago.
