Coax connectors - worth spending extra?

M Newton-Lewis (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Tuesday, 11th September 2001, 12:15

My Oritron 600 only has coax output for DD/DTS. Does it make any difference having a better connector? If so, which one do you suggest?

Before I set it up, I bought an optical lead but now I`m just using a standard phono lead, and it appears to work OK (although I haven`t got any DTS discs to try!).

Matt.

Are you using a phono lead to connect the coaxial output to your processor? Phono leads cannot carry all the required information which a standard coaxial cable can which obviously means you wont be getting the full effect of DD.

You can pick up a reasonable Coax Cable for about £7 from the likes of Miller bros.
