Page 1 of Eclipse

I brought the 695 from RS. Its great, but i cant get onto eclipse`s website.
Is there any firmware updates for this machine?

Don`t know of any but you can enter a hidden menu to disable macrovision etc by doing the following.

Open Disc Drawer

Press 7,4,Enter

This will bring a hidden menu once you make your changes just press the setup button to continue use.

p.s. The macro disable feature has to be done every time you switch the power off, don`t know of any way of making it permanent.

p.p.s. Have to agree the Eclipse 695 is v.good.

well, I`ve just bought an Eclipse player, and must say that I`m please with it, except for a couple of minor gripes. I`ve found it plays every known problem disk in my collection, and has great picture quality. I`m happy with it, but...
I`ve tried E-mailing Eclipse about the minor problems, but thier sites down it seems, so I`ve copied and pasted the problems below. If anybody knows how to remedy them I`d be very grateful....

Hi,
I`ve recently purchased your DVD-659 DVD player, and am having a small number of issues with it that I hope you can help me with.

1. When runing NTSC DVD`s I loose just over a centimetre of image on the right of frame (and some along the bottom) to overscan. I have a 14inch 4:3 TV. On one title this is a major problem, as there is text that needs to be read. If I try running it in PAL TV mode, I loose even more. Why does this happen and can I do something to stop it? The entire image is visible when I run it on my DVD-ROM drive.

2. SUBTITLES! Arrgggghh! For some reason it plays films by defalut with the subtitles on (first available channel, every time), and I have to go keep switiching them off. This is annoying me immensely. How can I get it to stop doing this?

3. For some reason my TV will not let me change my Colour or Sharpness for the PLayer. Why is this?

wasnt the address on the box http://www.eclipseelectronics.co.uk/ ? The logo at the .com doesn`t match the one on the box.

My eclipse player started rattling today, I`m beginning to think it`s defective!
