Let me get this right, the £10 additional charge made by Sky is to activate the record feature of this PVR. So record isn`t an active feature unless the £10 per month is coughed up?

If the above is correct I`ve just done £130 on a box I cant use! That will teach me for not paying attention. Fool!!

Yep, the sky plus box extra features are activated by software transmission from sky, hence the reason they charge the extra tenner. Its a bit of bug bear . They have you by the short and curlies.

Yeah, I`m afraid so, dusty... It is £10 a month - unless you subscribe to 2 of their premium channels, then it is free...

If you have a PC do what I did, I cancelled my subscription, went onto FreeSAT, connected to my PC running Media Centre and use that to record, works a treat!
