Has anyone purchased or had dealings with Humax PVR9200T digital tv recorder. was thinking of buying one from currys £199. never heard of the make before.
They are actually a pretty well known Korean manufacturer (with a "screwdriver" assembly plant in Ireland).
Corporate website is probably www.humax.com.kr or something similar.
The appropriate (PVR) section at AVforums.com has lots of posts about them - only beaten by a model from Topfield.
They also make one of the 2 currently available MPEG4/DVB-S compatible satellite receivers (Pace are the other maker of these).

I`ve got one of these boxes and would recommend it. Comes with 2 year warranty as standard as well.
Yep, I keep telling people, if you want a Freeview PVR, it has to be Topfield or Humax. Of the two, I personally prefer Humax. Brilliant quality, brilliant brand. Loads of people don`t seem to have heard of them though.

We`ve had a Humax for about a year now, great bit of kit. Completely changes your viewing habits.

. <--- Except this bit, its mine.
I bought one for my parents on the advice of people here, they aren`t very technology orientated, but they love it. We had an intial glitch, when things kept freezing up but a software download soon sorted that out.
If I had a Freeview signal, I`d get one in a flash, they`re just so easy to use and do the job well, far easier than my Panny DVD recorder - still don`t know what half the buttons do on that :/
