i am considering a pair of eltax bi-polars from richer sounds.are they worth getting.my listening position is right against the wall the speakers will be mounted on.anyone got any advice.
thanx
Mitch,
If you`re sitting against the wall then the Eltax should be placed around 2-3 feet away from the rear wall about six feet up the side walls of your room. Bi pole speakers work best in this position and should NOT be placed on the rear wall, placing them on the sides means the sound spreads over a wide arc across the whole listening sace.
I have Miller and Kreisel tripolar speakers(as with bipolar but with an extra forward facing driver at the front of the cabinet), and they have proved extremely effective and impressive to the overall sound of my system.
Buy with confidence!

Mitch,
I`ve owned Eltax Bipolar speakers for some time, and would say that they have performed really well. One word of warning, if you`re right next to the wall, ie your elbow`s touching it!, then you need to check that the speakers are positioned ok for you to get the proper effect. Follow previous post (that`s how I`ve got mine).
thanks for the help guys but due to the shape of my room they would have to go on the rear wall right behind the setee so i guess this would not be advisible.again thanx

Maybe you ought to consider some NXT panel speakers, which would give a broad wash of sound. I considered them, but have decided to go bi-polar. You can get Wharfedale ones for under £100. They are flat panels that can be diusguised as pictures, with a subwoofer for low end duties. Have a look at the thread I posted a while ago on these (which convinced me to go bipolar, but if you can`t acommodate them....)
