Page 1 of Cable interconnect recommendations for a Denon AVR3802 based sytem ??

Choosing the right cables fo your AVsystem seems to be even more difficult than buying the AV hardware.

Westy.. on your recommendation I have ordered the Denon 3802 and the the Mission M72 speaker package along with the Yammy 320 SW combined with the Toshiba 36ZP18P, a Toshiba 210 DVD player, a Sony SLV 810 Video and the Sky Digibox. Phew!

Now, what can I do in the way of appropriate interconnects between all these items?

I have read previous threads on the forum regarding cables and the following seem to be good buys..

Qed Silver Anniversery (loudspeakers) ...... £4.00 /m
IOXS 1081 (Subwoofer)..... £8.50
Ixos 1005 or 1006 (coax).... £30 / £40
Qed Squart £40

But are these appropriate to my system... or can I get away with using cheaper versions like Btech XV21 @£10-£15.

And what phono `component` leads do I need to connect the Tosh DVD player to the Tosh Telly.

I have also seen speaker wires at www.maplin.co.uk like the Shark (1000+ strands, OFC etc etc !!!!) for £3.49 are these any good?

By the way what is this biwiring stuff? Is it where each speaker drive unit is driven seperately, but are all speakers biwirable?

Any suggestions for some decent Speaker Stands for the Missions?

Hello there.

First of all the interconects you have chose should do the job ok but I would not go any lower. As for the component lead go for the Ixos 171av-200 at about £30.

Yes bi-wiring is where the high and low frequences are driven indevidually and all the speakers in the M7 range (apart from the center) are bi-wirerable. I would recomend you do the front left and right at least. QED silver anniversery bi-wire £8.50/m is the one you want. If you would like a slightley warmer sound try the Ixos Gammer at £3-6/m.

The best choise of stands would be the ones made for the job the Mission Stancette at £60.
