Surge protection

Looking to tidy up the `plates of spaghetti` (copyright John Cleese in an advert for Toshiba years ago) at the back of my TV.
As part of that,I`ll be buying new power extension/multiplug things.
Should I go for surge protected ones ?
Belkin,or any make ok ?

Biggest difference I have noticed in them is the sum of the connected equipment warranty.

Check out a few on Argos as an example , Belkin offer up to £100,000 on a 6 way one that sells for £22.99 while a similar model made by Masterplug selling at £17.99 only offers up to £2000 worth of protection.
