Page 1 of Grundig GDV620HT DVD / Surround sound system

Dixons have these at £199. A combined system. Seems very cheap for a DVD player and 5 speaker 5.1 surround sound system. Has anyone got one? Any good? What`s the catch? It looks OK. Will it play DVDs and CD`s and CDR`s? I`ve tried searching for official site stuff but does not come up on any of the search engines. Any advice greatly appreciated.

I`ve seen it in Currys, the salesman was clueless, the speakers look a bit cheap and I dont know what wattage they and the amplifier provides.. also dont know if its multiregion. BUT it is cheap.

Has anyone seen a review online or in any DVD magazine.

I have the Goodmans 3500pk which by the look of it and the price is the same machine. My woofer has a bit of a buzz. When I looked at it in Commet it sounded like it was going to be underpowered but once I got it home is is plenty loud enough. It will play DVD, SVCD, VCD, CD and mp3. I`m having a bit of trouble with the CDRs. It wont read some. No problem with CDRWs though.

I am still looking for a multi regeon hack. It anyone knows one for the Grundig or Goodmans please pass it on.

Thanks for this addiitional info, I`ll search on the Goodmans now if you reckon it`s almost the same machine.

Hi, I also bought the Goodmans system and would like to ask if it plays all VCD`S has I don`t think it mentions them in the manual.
Also I can play some CD-Rs (music) some Maxell with blue bottoms and Samsung with blue bottoms.At first I thought it must be the blue that was the reason but I have other makes with blue that don`t work.
I would be interested to hear what works on yours.

CDRW work perfect, though they are £1 each.

Yes I think dark CDRs work better though I do have some cheap silver ones that play music Cd ok. VCD realy needs CDRW though because I get a lot of interference, blocking etc with CDRs

Traxdata CDRs seem quite good
