Am looking for a chipped playstation2 package just after crimbo.
Any1 know of any web sites in the uk that sell them, or if not any hot deals going?..

Considered getting an unchipped one and Region-X? Would work out much cheaper and still have the full Sony warranty, see the review in the Hardware Reviews section.

why go for a chipped ps2 when u can get dvdrom self booters which u dont need ps2 to be chipped

Region X doesn`t let you play imported PS2 games though, only DVD films.

Exactley, dont require the ps2 for a dvd player, already have one(pioneer535).
Just want it to be chipped so can play imported games...

mickymcd2, are you saying it`s possible to get a "boot disc" of some kind, which lets you boot American and Japanese discs without chipping the PS2? Just wondering, I hadn`t heard of that before.
