Help - Dansai 852 set up.

Hughesy (Harmless) posted this on Thursday, 6th December 2001, 13:02

Please somebody help a useless technophobe.

I have taken the plunge and purchased the above. Can I connect it to my hifi amplifier via phono leads to get some sort of stereo. Is it worth it ? Does it make much of a difference to sound quality ?

Many thanks.

Yes, it is always worth connecting to a hi-fi as you get better sterio seperation as the speakers can be set further apart.

Just get some twin phono leads and you are sorted.

What hi-fi do you have?

Thanks MicoMan

I`ve got a nad 3020i amp, Technics SLPG200A CD player and JPW Sonata speakers dating back to 1991 i.e before Kids. The sound quality has always been superb for both CD`s and Vinyl.

When the DVD is switched off, would I have to remove the phono plugs and insert them into my video player for stereo video or TV play back.

Many Thanks.

Wow!

I though you would have a crap hi-fi like my Aiwa!

If I understand correctly? The Dansai has stereo phono outputs as well as a scart connection?

I would connect the TV/VCR with the scart then you are free to have the phono plugs connected permenately to your amp.

Hope this helps, Thats how I have my crap Aiwa (won`t play CD-R`s now?)
I have 2 VCR`s, DVD, Aiwa and TV connected and its a bit of a mess!!
but works?

Can you hlep me? Look below

Moicoman`s right - the scart will send a setreo audio signal to the TV, so the phonos can stay connected to the hifi.
Is your NAD the receiver or amp? My parents have the receiver version, and they have always found it wanders when tuned to a station. I even put in a proper ariel in the loft, but it still has a wandering tendency. If you have the receiver, do you find the same?

Thanks everyone

My Nad is an amp not a receiver so sorry can`t help you there.

Haven`t set it the Dansai up yet - no time with kids swimming club, rugby training etc. also the wife came home last night after 4 days on business in Holland, she wanted to show me a magazine she`d picked up !

I`ll give you a report on the DVD that is after the weekend.

Cheers.
