Anyone who has/bought the GRUNDIG GDV230 player!!!!

Well i bought this player today for £140 and i can i know, cos i tried it, the goodmans 3500 hack doesnt work.

i also took the cover off and looked for any markings that would give its true identity away. all i could see was a chip with ORION OECE001A ICQF067100 written on it. so does trhis make it an orion player? i tried an orion hack but with no luck.

the picture is good (yeah,like i`d know) and the sound seemed fine.
the features are a bit sparse no vcd,cd-r or any thing , just dvd and cd.
oh and the picture of the remote on the dixons/currys website is wrong.the one i recieved was a one similer to matsui vcr remote.

Anil, you are quite right and i would like to say i cetainly meant no offence by my post and i certainly would never dream of calling any body "that word" i was just trying to make the point that even passive indirect "racism" is the foundation for many stereotypes. and if things likes this are disguised as humour then they are even more differcult to tackle ,as people will accuse you of being a killjoy. if we all refrained from relying on tired and baseless forms of stereotypes for our jokes i think it would be easier to spot the real racists and biggots in this world as they couldnt hide behind feeble excuses like "we`re only avin a laugh,mate".
and as my father suffered badly from this kind of attitude during the 70`s, the irish, all being considred terrorists or retards only fit to dig roads by such ignorant folk, i am sensitive about it, as it made him very ill.

well being Irish i`m sick of it. its not about having a sense of humour at all. so if i call you a stupid paki i can expect you to take in good humour, can i? i dont want people to call me,or assume i`m thick just cos of my heritige, so i wouldnt call somebody thick cos of theirs! and besides the joke wasnt light relief it was offensive as far as i`m concerned. but as i`m not Polish i guess its non of my buisness.

i think the macmaster will work on any DVD. people who have one and actualy post opinion about it (not many) say it works . but to what degree, they dont. so your just gonna have to find out the hardway.
having no macro encryption output is surely better than having to combat it externaly. but its your doe!

the one from www.sonel.com comes with the power suply, i think. i emailed the site to ask about the macmaster but got no reply, does any one know if its still trading? there doesnt appear to be a contact number on the site.

nobody seems to know anything about this player. in another post someone said to try the hack for the goodmans3500 but they didnt confirm it eitherway.im thinking of getting one,but not till i find out how to disable macro. if you find anything out about this post back,please.

yeah, but it really isnt as simple as that. if you do get it chipped you still have to do lot of disc swapping to play copied games.

they have a 28" w/s £299 good spec,actually! doesnt say whether its ntsc though.
phone your local branch later and ask them to check for you.

they have goodmans widescreens(obviously) that are usualy ntsc compatable. youll lose out on connectivity,though.

I just visited techtronics and the only thing i could find was a mod upgrade for £99 this enabled vcr mode(a polite way of saying disable macrovision???) is this the macrobox you mean?

anyone else feel like offering an opinion/advice, all welcome!
