Advice on importing an American Blu-Ray DVD Player!!
I am thinking about buying an american blu-ray dvd player from Movietyme.com but need some advice as this is the first time of importing electrical goods.
Can anyone tell me what I would need to be able to import a blu-ray player as the one I am interested in is the Sony BDP-S300 which costs £339.99. On the description it says 120 volt. Is this compatible in the UK or what would I need to be able to get one of these machines.
I am thinking of this as I would then be able to play blu-ray from America and the UK as I have the UK PS3. Would this be of use to me getting an american one or is there a way to make the PS3 able to play the American blu-ray discs.
Your help in this matter would be apreciated.

Looks like you can get a UK one kosher from play.com for £350 soon, a good bet really.

The original poster already stated that they had a UK PS3 and wanted a US player, so what good would one from Play do them?

Play have the sony proper blue ray 300 player delivered for £350 shortly. I think they are all region free as standard and uk voltage, far better.

Hi is that right, Sorry, I was told all were free of that crappy going on, what a bloomin mess they are making of all of this daft format wars etc with the added not so bonus of region goings on as well.
Is Toshiba HD region free??? I was told that was too, must nip and read up more.
I expect like me many of us are just keeping clear of the whole going on. Apparently ordinary DVD sales are storming away at the mo leaving either new HD format behind completely. Well with a fairly decent player from £10 its hardly surprising.
I was speaking to someone who bought older type stuff on US Tosh HD and he says its no better than his half decent usual dvds.!!!!!!
