Page 1 of TV PROBLEMS...

hELLO!!

FIRST OF ALL mERRY cHRISTMAS!!

SECONDLY, MY tv IS A 28" GOODMANS NICAM STEREO, BUT I HAVE BLUE SHADING AT THE BOTTOM AND TOP OF THE SCREEN, WHICH IS VERY ANNOYING AND DETRACTS FROM THE WHOLE PICTURE...IS THERE ANY WAY i CAN GET RID OF THIS?

How old is the tv? and did it just happen? and have you had speakers near it? if i am right you have a thomson made set and you have a degauss problem which needs engineer to look at it, what i would do which might do a tempory repair disconnest from mains overnight and in morning try and see if that cures it. If it does not you need engineer to look at it and replace the degauss termistor or you may have a dry joint.

I`ve only had the set for 6 months, it started after only 2 weeks of having so COMET called out an engineer and he came round and waved a wand thing infront of the screen and that got rid of most of the blue, now its coming back again...yes i did have speakers near the set, but dont anymore....

i`ll try disconnecting it, see if that sorts it...
