Subtitles on/off Dansai 852

kiran joshi (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Monday, 24th December 2001, 10:56

Hi All,Has any one else had any problems with the subtitle menu on the Dansai 852???.Well I always have the subtitles switched off,but every time I forward a scene or a chapter.......the subtitles come back on.

Is this a fault with the machine or is that how these machines are made?.
Help please.....

Hi doesn`t do that on the one we got for our little lad when forwarding, but strangely the subtitles do come on, on odd titles, very strange.
Maybe worth changing it if it bugs you. I used to have the first logix 3000 and they were always on when you put a disk in and needed turning off a lot, got a bit sick of it.
Our Dansai is also set to subtitles off so why they come on, on maybe 1/10 discs is a mystery to me, but once switched off they stay off.
Could try resetting factory defaults then switching off subtitles again.
all the best Mark.
PS can you see a small red laser light if you look through top of small gap at top of door flap when playing disc. thanks.

Your right they do come on now and again , but they are easily turned off and i can only say this is a small niggle on a descent player.

There are probs with most players one way or another , but at least it cost u less than a ton to find out!

Have fun

can`t say mine has done this - i did have a cyberhome that did this exact same thing (along with many other faults) same disks that fouled the cyberhome don`t affect the dansai that replaced it.

what version of the dansai do you have (can be found from menu) and what titles are affected?
