Page 1 of Hitachi CP R555 Projector Lamp Problems

I have a Hitachi CP R555 projector (couple of years old) that doesnt get used much and so i have had no need to replace the bulb until now.

I have removed the old bulb and put in the new one, the lamp time reads 2003 hours but i keep getting an error message on screen telling me that i need to replace the bulb and then reset the lamp timer.

After putting in the new bulb i attempted to reset the machine but every time i try this it jumps back to the menu without resetting and hence the error continues to appear. The projector also shuts itself off after an hour as for some reason it seems to think the old bulb is still in there.

Any advice would be greatly recieved.

Procedure for Hitachi ED-X3280.

Access the Menu via the Remote Control.

V. Down to Option.

>. Right to access Option Menu.

V. Down to Lamp.

Press and hold the Reset button on the Remote Control for at least 4 seconds.

A supplementary Menu will appear …something like this.

__Lamp
> Cancel

^. Press Up …You've got to be quick! …to get this* …and hold

* >_Lamp
_ Cancel


This should Zero your Lamp Runtime Counter.

The 'Clean Filter' Runtime Counter has to be reset in a similarly tricky fashion after 100 Hours use. You should have encounted this one before.
