Advice on what DVD player to get

Natt (Harmless) posted this on Thursday, 3rd January 2002, 11:47

I am not sure which dvd player to chose out of the Tosh 210, or the Goodmans 3500pk. At present I have a Goodmans widescreen and therefore thought the Goodmans dvd would be a good choice, but I have not found any good reviews on the Goodmans, whereas the Tosh is rated very highly, both are around £200.

Any advice welcome

Natt,

I must tell you i was stuck between these two also last month...where do you send your money?
Eventually I opted for the Goodmans, And i tell you it is fantastic!!! Watched all my DVD`s on it now and the surround sound outfit is fab! Picture quality also fantastic (I too have a Goodmans 28" TV) It has made my movie watching a joy. Although the Missus still reckons she cannot tell the difference between DVD and VHS! D`OH!!
So In conclusion spend your money on the Goodmans it also has a Multi regional hack on here which is dead easy to do, where as I think you will find the Toshiba must be chipped.

Thanks Gavski, our frontroom is quite spacious (no mansion though!!) so I think I will go for the Goodmans, espcially if its the same price.

Tosh has had some great reviews all over the place, long term a better bet. Do you need region free? Tosh will require modification to do that. Not sure about the Goodmans.
