Page 1 of Red Picture and Flickering Picture

I have a philips 612 dvd player and a sharp 24" widescreen tv.

My problem is that when i watch dvd`s through the rgb scart the picture has a large amount of red in it. I tried changing the colour settings etc. but this makes the normal tv picture very bright and pretty unwatchable.

So i thought i would just connect the dvd through the normal scart sockets, and while the picture has the right colour balance, it flickers enough to be annoying. This happens especially when the picture changes from dark surroundings to light surroundings.

Please help as this is really annoying!

I haven`t got any answers to your problem, but I have got a Sharp 28" TV and a Philips 622 and the picure is perfect through the nomal AV1 scart but has a noticable `flicker` when I use the RGB scart on the TV. I know its not the player - I had a 612 last week but returned it because of the same `flicker`. Philips say it can only be a compatibility problem with sharp TV`s. what do you think.

I`d tend to agree with that as i tested the dvd on a sony tv - worked perfectly!

I have emailed sharp to see what they say.
