RE: Speakers : Anyone heard of .........

Eltax are a danish company making a range of pretty good speakers but as with any hi-fi you are looking at, listen to it, if you like the sound, buy it.

RE: PHILIPS DVD PICTURE FLICKER WITH RGB

good point. if only the player had a menu that would allow the output to be changed(RGB, Composite etc..) the problem might not exist.

PHILIPS DVD PICTURE FLICKER WITH RGB

I have a Philips 622 dvd player when I connect it to the RGB scart on my TV I get a slight flickering on the picture. This disapears when I use the AV1 scart. I know its not my player because I`ve tried 3 philips players and they all flicker with RGB. I`ve tried other players with the same TV and they work OK. Any ideas?

RE: SONY DVD NS300

Fair comment about not giving details of the special remote. My advise to all sony owners - BIN THAT PLAYER! and buy one from a manufacturer who is on the side of the consumer and not the movie industry. Many of the `supermarker` players do everything and have region menus built in with codes available on request. As for a picture quality... well lets not split hairs.

RE: SONY DVD NS300

so you keep telling us. any chance you could say which special remote and what codes need to be input.

RE: Philips Dvd 612 Question

A vcdr is the same as a cd-r and the philips will play them. If tesco are asking more than £128 for the player, try Currys and comet. I just paid £128 for a philips 622 (with mp3 playback) and got gladiator dvd in with the package (comet).

Philips DVD with Sharp TV

Anyone using a philips DVD player with a Sharp TV? Are you experiencing any picture problems using the RGB scart on the TV.

RE: CyberHome Vs SCAN Vs PSX2

my brother has the cyberhome - thinks it is v. good for the cash. I beleive the scan is the same machine internally. my personal opinion on the PSX2 - great for games - crap for DVD

RE: Red Picture and Flickering Picture

post any info from sharp on this thread and I;l look out for it - thanks

RE: Pacific 750

the hack is on this site (on the remote press `open/close` - key in 8421 - region 1 appears - press the enter button repeatedly until `ALL` appears - press `open/close` again - job done. go into system menu and change from PAL to PAL 60 this will stop the slight judder when you play region 1 disks

RE: Kenwood or Sony Amp??

Looks are not everything. The sony is ok but look at others... NAD C340 - marantz PM6010 ose - DENON DRA-455

RE: Picture Flickers with RGB

Thanks for the reply. I called philips re: the problem and they confirmed the scart output on the 622 is RGB.

RE: Philips 622 - Hack needed pleeeease (macrovision/region1)

you need the philips 750 hack ( on this site) using a `one for all` 6 or digital remote. the macrovision will have to be disabled via an external unit from someone like electopaks

RE: problems with Pacific 750

I dont think you are doing anything wrong. I experienced problems playing region 1 disks after doing the multiregion hack as advised by the Asda help line, so I took the player back and got a refund.

Picture Flickers with RGB

I have a Philips 622 dvd and a 28" sharp TV. The picture is perfect when I use the TV`s Av1 scart but the picture has a noticable flicker when I use the RGB scart. I have tried more than one philips player and got the same problem - non philips players work OK. any suggestions?

RE: Red Picture and Flickering Picture

I haven`t got any answers to your problem, but I have got a Sharp 28" TV and a Philips 622 and the picure is perfect through the nomal AV1 scart but has a noticable `flicker` when I use the RGB scart on the TV. I know its not the player - I had a 612 last week but returned it because of the same `flicker`. Philips say it can only be a compatibility problem with sharp TV`s. what do you think.
