Your problem seems to be "Macro Protection" which is inserted to stop
people making copies of films. This has been used on VHS tapes for
a long time. The DVD players is where the sync pulses are interfered with on a DVD to the best of my knowledge( ie not the disc). So you would need to change the program in you DVD which might not be so easy or possible.
I can see a problem where someone wants to play there DVD`s in one room and pipe it through the aerial system using there RF modulator of there vcr to do this!! Such a crime?
PLease let me know if anyone can tell me anymore on the problem.
Which DVD player do you have - some of them can be rendered VCR friendly by a simple remote control hack.
Failing that there are external devices which can do it : some suggested URLs : http://www.sonel.com http://www.dvdchips.co.uk http://www.ringos.co.uk - a cunning device called a MacMaster which can be had for £30.
As for "I own the DVD and want to back it up" - I used to think you could make a legitimate copy of anything you owned (eg CD, DVD) - in fact, it`s always been against the law, evidenced by the introduction of copy-protected CDs (step forward Ms Imbruglia).....
