Page 1 of Some discs noisy on 210, some not...

I was watching Rush Hour 2 last night and the drive was making a helluva racket. I immediately inserted Star Wars and it was almost silent again. As soon as Rush Hour 2 went back in it was noisy as hell and i had to put the sound up to avoid distraction. What`s that all about then ? Different weights of discs putting different demands on the drive or something ?
I`d take the booger back to John Lewis`s and take advantage of their 2 year guarantee but is an ` occasionally noisy ` drive REALLY grounds for a refund or exchange ?

Hi mine is just the same, generally acceptable with most disc`s. Lots of players grumble more at start of disc then get quieter as you go on.
Great player though.
Best Mark.

I make my own VCD`s and it;s true different make`s of disc make a different amount of noise, Philips multi purpose being the worst! Reckon must be the balance of the disc.

So the consensus is it`s normal and I shouldn`t be tempted into swapping it for a 444 just coz I think there`s a problem...
Thank god for that. I really can`t be bothered changing it but I`m just so easily distracted into changing for the next little floozy of a machine that comes along flaunting it`s lithesome little dimensions...
I`m a retailer`s dream !
