I`d always be wary of these `too good to be true offers.` I got my fingers burnt a few years ago on a similar scheme. In the terms and conditions they often state you wont get a refund if they can`t operate the service because of problems caused by a third party, i.e. BT. They then cancel the service claiming `BT-related` issues and bugger off with your money.

O2 are crap at getting anything soted out. Bought my phone from o2 online and said I wanted to bring my number with me from Vodafone. I sent about 15 - 20 emails and phoned about 4 times to the 50p a minute line. In the end i wrote to the Managing Director and they suprisingly found the problem within 3 days. Bit of a suprise that. They did refund my line rental, calls and first 2 months insurance for that. But didn`t stop me being out of contact with people for over a month!

Go for it. I`ve used them loads and they`ve managed to get all of them through customs.

Most come within a week, but my Scream Trilogy took about 3 weeks. I was prepared to wait though to avoid a nasty charge from customs.

Has anyone successfully hacked this machine, and if so what was the hack?

Argos are selling this machine for around £170 with 10 DVD`s, but I need it to be multi-region.

Phillips 622 - Opinions?????

I`m looking into buying this player and was hoping that people who already have this machine wouldn`t mind contributing their feelings.

For example:
Is the drive noisy?
Is the picture of decent quality?
Does it have any problems with any discs from any regions?
How easy was the hack to do?

Multi-region player that will work with Ultimate Scream Collection R1

I`m looking for a player that can be hacked and that can handle these discs. I had a Wharfedale 750s and it locked up at the Layer change on Scream 2 and wouldn`t access the extra features menu on the same disc. It also had problems with the layer change on Scream 1.

My Hitachi 305 handled them perfectly but that machine caused me alot of problems with pixellation and crashing.

Any help will be appreciated.

I`m looking into buying this player. What are peoples opinions of it?

I had a Hitachi 305 but that caused me a few problems. Half way through movies, at random points, the picture would pixellise and it would say the disc couldn`t be played. There was no dirt on the disc and it really baffled me because it did it at random points.

I had the same problem with my wharfedale - They said its the sound of the laser working hard to read the dual layer discs

RE: Scream trilogy - which region???

Got my R1 copy from DVDBO. took a while but never got stung by customs. Be warned though, Scream 2 has some compatability issues. Some players can`t access the special features or get past the layer change.

Extra disc is quite good. The documentary is entertaining and is around 30 mins long. Not like the sh*te featurettes you usually get.

My advice get R1
