Twister (Harmless) posted this on Tuesday, 22nd January 2002, 10:11

I am looking to buy a DVD Player soon.

And after looking around the internet, it has come down to these two.

Dansai DVD852 AND Cyberhome ADL528

Which is the better DVD Player ?

Both come in Silver,
Both play a whole host of media (DVD/VCD/MP3/etc) and
Both are the same price.

Can anyone help with, with regards to picture quality and sound, etc.
also any info on Macro Vision

Thanks

Cyberhome cannot get round macrovision, but it does have a decoder on board, so if you wanted a cheap surround system, you could plug it straight into an active speaker set like the Packard Bell thing that`s been mentioned in the bargain forums, or other things like the novatech ones etc.

I am picking up my Dansai today from Tesco (East London).

According to a work mate (got his yesterday), the only problem he had was the build quailty and no standby button on main unit. He is still trying to get in contact with the manufactors thou.

Cyberhome people have a website and a contact number (germany). but they are helpful - ie "we can`t tell you how, but i can give you a number of who can", is what i was told by a support staff.

Dansai? Is that like the old Dansett record players? Can you pile 50 DVDs in the player!
