MP3 CDs on a Wharfdale 750S (new model)

Am I correct in assuming that you just burn MP3s from the computer onto a CD-R and drop it in the 750S to play the MP3 files?

I quite like the idea of 10hours per CD-R disc =)

Yes. Burn them like ordinary files.

I own a Mico myself which plays them just gr8. A standard 74min Audio CDR can actually contain 13.5 hours of MP3s assuming you are using the standard 11:1 compression ratio.

Choose at least 128Kbit/s / 44,100Hz / Stereo.

Download them from http://www.napster.com 2,000,000 songs last count!

I`m not getting an output on MP3, but I only have an analogue amp. Is this the reason?

Dont know sod all about the Wharfedale, but no you wont need a digital amp!

It will output just the same as DVD/CD-DA etc thru your SCART/Audio Outs. Digital Outs - maybe not!

Are your MP3 files standard? My Mico will play loads of sample rates @ freqs of 22050Hz and 44100Hz, including mono.

Try a standard 128Kbit/s / 44,100Hz / Stereo sample. If that wont work - SEND IT BACK!

Well, I tried it with a CD-RW ... and yeah man ... sorted :)

The 750S can play 44.1KHz/Stereo MP3s at a bit rate of (tested so far) 128, 160, 192 kbps.

I`ll post as I find more MP3s in my collection :)

And Napster rocks when you`ve a leased line at work and a ZIP drive to use ;) [at least 25KB/sec downloads]

I`ve done another test, this time using directories to sort the MP3s ... it handles that too ... plays the files in directory order (alphabetically) then by filename in each directory - in case anyone wanted to know!

I`ve even got my Aiwia VCR to record region 2 disks with only a very, very, VERY slight variation in brightness - so much for Macrovision.
