DAV S500 connectivity problems.

Maak (Harmless) posted this on Tuesday, 29th January 2002, 09:23

Hi there folks,

Wondering if you can help me - I currently have a DAV S500, which is connected using the bog standard connection. I have no S-Video input on my TV.

I have invested in a S-video to RGB cable - but the TV displays the picture in black & white on both my standard and RGB scart (meaning that my Samsung WS TV does not like S-video connections ? )

Any possible solutions to this, or am I stuck with the normal composite connection ?

Any help appreciated...

cheers

I`ve had the same problem (see previous thread "help please with connecting Sony DAVS500").

Unfotunately i think your stuck with the supplied connection.

A friend suggested that the problem may be connected to having the set multi regioned.

If you get any joy with this let me know

cheers

My DAV S500 is not multi-regioned - I think our problem is our TV scart(s) sockets do not like S-video. I think you can get S-video to RGB Scart convertors but they cost £80+.

I think the solution is to save up for a new WS TV that will accept S-video.
(Seems a shame though as my Samsung 28" WS is only 6 months old!)
Bit of a nightmare really.
