Page 1 of SONY v PANASONIC v PIONEER
Hardware Forum
I am about to buy my first DVD player and have got it down to three :-
SONY DVP-S336 (which I can get for £250 with 3 free discs)
or PANASONIC RV20EBS (which I can get for £225)
or PIONEER DV-535 (which I can get for £180)
Does anyone out there own any of these and can offer me advice to help
me decide? I don`t want to pay more than £250.
Thanks,
Brian C.

RE: SONY v PANASONIC v PIONEER
Out of the 3 players you mention the Pioneer is the only one that will play CD-R disks if that is an issue at all. I have the earlier 525 and would recommend for picture, sound and price, although they are a basic player. The 535 is much the same. So the pioneer would be my recommendation, if you couldn`t tell. But dont get it from letsbuyit, pay that little extra and get it multiregion and macro disabled from Techtronics.

If CD-r is an issue I`ll add that my Pioneer 515 plays CD-RW too (well a CD-RW video CD I made did anyway)
