RE: A good AV reciever???

I have the Pioneer receiver that letsbuyit are selling and i am very happy with it, its got a respectable 5x80w output and a nice chunky learning remote so in theory you can program all your current remotes into the one unit. I would definitely recommend it especially at the best price of £219.

Hi res, If you mean the HTK-315 i had this kit and it went back, terrible amount of hiss from the speakers on every thing except digital input, even with no signal going in and volume low, it did my head in. I dont know if mine was faulty or if they are all like that, but if thats the case i wouldn`t recommend it. For a few quid more i opted for a pioneer VSX709 receiver and Yamaha NSP210 speakers, far better.

Smokedkipper, get in touch with LG themselves, the offer is valid for players bought up until 31st dec. which yours is. They should send you a cert. to claim the free dvd, a friend had to do the same and he`s now got his copy.

RE: 3 Phono RGB -> Scart

To add to daz`s reply you could even try to get a 5-phono to scart lead (red, green and blue signals and left and right signals) this should in theory give you audio and video, happy hunting. ttfn

Barton, the leaflet for the free dvd was in the box with my player so i suggest you contact either dabs themselves or LG. A mate of mine had the same problem and LG sent him a leaflet, hope this helps. ttfn.

Hi guys (and gals, if there is any) got my 3350 from dabs and the hack seems to work fine, haven`t had chance to run the player yet but the CODE message comes up on the screen no probs.By the way does anyone know how to go about getting the free walking with dinosaurs when you have to have the cert. stamped by the dealer, but the player was ordered online, your views please. I am waiting for one from dabs and found out tonight my order has been completed, to me that means its dispatched (could be wrong) so hopefully get it this week and will let you know soon as i receive it, i bloody hope so. ttfn.

Pedro most places are out of stock on the LG3350, but they are a grand player so if you are prepared to wait a week or so then www.dabs.com may be worth a look, they r knocking them out for £189 delivered that cant be bad can it.

A friend of mine had the lb900 a couple of months ago and it went back after a few days due to bad lipsync problems on several disks. I advise you not to buy one unless the problems are confirmed to have been sorted out. Good luck.

I have this film on R1 and the code 82997 works fine on my Pioneer 525, when on the menu screen make sure you have selected the special edition so that mission profiles etc. appears below and enter the code slowly, after each number the words THE FUTURE IS NOT SET appear on the right hand side (one word after each key press) then extended special edition should show up. Hope this helps.

Try www.hifistore.co.uk, Had my Vivanco Prowire from them it seems pretty good, solidly made, gold plated, 1.5mtr and slots in the old scart quite nicely. Online they are £16 but got mine for £15 in store, but you have to say to them that they told you £15 other wise its £16.95, strange but true.

Out of the 3 players you mention the Pioneer is the only one that will play CD-R disks if that is an issue at all. I have the earlier 525 and would recommend for picture, sound and price, although they are a basic player.The 535 is much the same. So the pioneer would be my recommendation, if you couldn`t tell. But dont get it from letsbuyit, pay that little extra and get it multiregion and macro disabled from Techtronics.

As far as i`m aware the all pioneer models dont have cracks for them and have to be chipped to be multiregion or have the E-Mod upgrade from techtronics which my 525 has and works a treat, this mod also has manual change back up and does not affect the manufacturers warranty as it is a plug in mod. The only downside is that it costs around £100 which is a bit expensive, hope this info helps.

I have recently bought "The Rock" and found when i got home it is a double sider and has to be flipped over half way through, which is a pain, seeing there`s not much in the way of features surely they could of fitted it on one side. So if this really chokes your chain avoid this film like the plague.

Hitachi 523 eh! erm, would Daz`s rants and raves have anything do with your decision. Cant say i`ve noticed any geometry problems on my set, its the pre super flat model, unfortunately like the one Daz sent back but luckily im having no probs, (Touching a big stick of wood).

Ay up Blazin` I can safely say i have the "full kit"

TV: Hitachi 32" Widescreen,(Great TV, takes RGB a treat)
Player: Pioneer DV525,(Basic but does the job)
Amp: PioneerVSX709RDS(Optically connected to DVD)
Speakers: Yamaha NSP210(5+sub, crackers for £140)
Sofa: Oh dear, run of the mill 3 piece

Well theres the kit and all works in harmony, to me, the dogs danglies, don`t know what ya missin. Go on get yer self more in debt as i did and treat yourself, but firstly start with getting a proper telly.

Can anyone tell me if the Wharfdale 750s or the Daewoo DQD200 output pal 50 from a R1 disk? Cheers.
