tosh 210e sound

safc2000 (Harmless) posted this on Friday, 15th February 2002, 00:08

I am new to the dvd world and have just purchased a tosh 210e for £152 and have connected it via a scart to a toshiba 2557db tv. When playing dvd`s the sound quality is good but the volume is noticably quiter then tv channels. The dvd sound is also alot quieter than if I play a music cd on the 210e. The sound level can be boosted by changing the audio enhancement to dialogue. Is this reduction in volume normal or should I change the player?

Completely normal with DVD`s.
I`m not going to go into why, because I don`t know the full technical jargon.
It`s not peculiar to the Tosh, and the Tosh isn`t as bad as some.
When I first got mine I used to keep using the dialogue function but you lose the full glory of the soundtrack. It ` muddys ` the sound.
Switch it back to 5.1 2CH and turn up your TV. You`ll get used to it.
Enjoy the Tosh. Fantastic player.
Your nametag by the way. Aberdeen fan by any chance ??
If so, " up the dons ! "
If not, sorry...
