Can I Play CD-R`s ?

I have a Thomson DTH 4000-U DVD player and although the manual says that it won`t play recordable cd`s does anybody know if theres any way i can play them ?
If anybody has any idea could they please let me know on 101mdj[at].moc.liamtoh

It`s a hardware limitation - basically the laser pickup inside the 4000 is a "single wavelength" model and most CD-Rs aren`t reflective enough at this wavelength to work. You may be able to get *some* CD-Rs to work; Princo/VivaStar is usually a good bet.

Some DVD players have a "dual wavelength" pickup, which means they can play CD-R and CD-RW. If this is the case it will generally say "MultiRead" or "CD-R/CD-RW compatible" on the box.

DVD players which dont play CD-R`s will usually play RW though

sirious brand cd`r definatly work as one of my machines is a samsung (thompson dvd`s are generaly samsung clones) try not to burn them any faster than 12x
