New Speakers

Generally, how long should you run new speakers in before you start turning them up loud, and do they sound better once they`ve run in?

24 hours with a cd playing quietly on repeat will sort them out. If their speakers with alloy drivers etc (Acoustic Energy, Monitor Audio, Kef), then allow around 2 days of proper running in before they lossen up and sound their best.
And yes, they definitely sound better once run in. The bass can be a bit too tight from the box, and treble suffers from a lack of openness.
