I have just bought one of these from Powerhouse for £109
This player does not have karaoke but does have integrated
Dolby 5.1 decoder . The hacks for the dansai 852 and similar Decca also work on this one :)
You press setup on remote - then stop , previous , next on the remote to enter the factory menu , from here you can bypass all regions and turn macrovision off

Have they replaced the DDV-2110 then? Does this mean it doesn`t have the two mic inputs on the facia, indicating a Karoake machine?

Surely you mean the Decca DDV 2100 the 5100 does not exist on the website or my local store.

this player is more or less the same as the 2100 apart from the 5.1 decoder it has also the no karoke function the case and front is the same as a smart 2000 or a silver yelo 800 good machine for price

I bought the 2100 just 2 days ago and there is no 5100. Where can I find the 5100 as I dont need the karoke function would like to have the 5.1 output.

I bought the 2100 a week ago, it was faulty. It locked up randomly. Took it back to Powerhouse, they gave me a 5100 in its place as they had no stock of 2100 players.

It seems to me like the 2100 is now obsolete and the 5100 is the replacement machine being sold, any 2110`s must be old stock, probably why they are such a bargain.

Advantages/Dissadvantages of the 5100:

Its ten quid dearer than the 2100 (store let me off with that), has a nicer front panel, no "ping" sound on opening the door, no kareoke, but does have dolby 5.1.

How many times the system locked out during the 2 week you had it? It did lockout with me today after I switched the input on the TV set. does that mean it is faulty as I would like to have the 5.1 with system?
