My advice would be the Dansai 528, £99.49p from Tesco or the Mico 20 back on display at Sainsburys for £99.95p. I also saw the Goodmans GVD 124 on sale at Woolworths today for £89.99p. All these machines will fit the bill.....you pays your money and takes your choice.

Try your local LIDL store ,Supervision SM2500 £80,or failing that try www.jungle.com for the Haus H615L-S £130. Don`t know much about many other specs of other machines but these are easily changed to multi-region by a few simple steps. The Haus and the Supervision SM2500 DVD play every format available at the moment ( Not sure about DVD-R / DVD-RW) .
The codes for both are listed on this site and are as follows
SM 2500
1) Open tray with Remote
2) Press 8, 4, 2 then 1 in order.
3) You should now be in a hidden menu
4) Select 1, 2, etc for region. 9 is for multi-region.
Haus H-615L-S
1) Press Stop on remote Twice
2) Press 1,9,9,9 on remote in that order.
3) In Set Up Menu select 1,2,3 etc, or All for multi-region.
If this fails try the following

1) At Logo Press Stop on remote.
2) Press 2,3,1,7 on remote in that order.
3) In Set Up Menu press 1,2,3 etc
4) Power Off then Power On.

I noticed another dvd player on the jungle site the haus H100 model.
I notice however this is only 2 channel:

DVD,SVCD,VCD,CD,MP3,CD-R,CD-RW Playback
2 Channel
RGB Scart
S-Video Output
Optical Output

Can someone confirm what this means in real terms. I have a seperate amp do i need a dvd player which is 5.1?.
Then again what about players that are 5.1 surely you would have to buy a seperate amp anyway to plug all the speakers into?

haven`t quite got my head around this, can someone explain
