RE: CoD:Black Ops tonight then?
Initial thoughts guys...?
Having been pretty glued to it for the last 5 hours, I`m pretty impressed!
I love how customisable everything is... and that you can free-roam on your previous match and watch the whole thing again from any angle or position you like, take pictures, videos etc. And if you ever got shot by someone and wondered how they got to the position they were in, it`ll come in kinda handy I think.
Still getting used to the weapons & killstreaks, but am drastically better than I was at MW2 (which, to be fair, wouldn`t take much...)
Maps are pretty good too. Quite like Nuketown, little bit small maybe but loads of fun... found a few little hiding places on the other maps too.
See you on the battlefield
I`ll probably be on for a bit between 5-7, but that`s it tonight as got to go for a meal and then away again with work next few days.

RE: CoD:Black Ops tonight then?
okily... had an hour and a half of multiplayer.
thoughts so far:-
1. graphics seem very poor compared to MW2, with considerable lag on some of the maps.
2. maps are very interesting, quite a bit of variety and colour compared to MW2.
3. gameplay seems slow, but will no doubt speed up once the "marathon" perk is enabled.
4. not sure i`m over keen on being able to buy perks and upgrades?
but, i must admit it`s growing on me, although the biggest killstreak i managed
was to obtain the remote bomb car, which i promptly blew up right under my
nose!!! must RTFM and figure out how to use it ;)

but am i the only one that thinks it`s a bit more "clunky" than mw2 ?Nope. I`m finding gameplay isn`t at smooth, but was sort of hoping that was my connection rather than anything else. Also had major connection issues with it last night, dropping out every few seconds. Did help a little though cos was playing free-for-all in second place, top guy must have dropped out I think and I went on to win... would be ****ed if it was me that dropped off though!
RE: CoD:Black Ops tonight then?
it definitely is less polished than MW2.
digital foundry have done a "face off" (as they often do) and the PS3 version is
running a lower resolution and framerate than the 360 version. looking at the stats
the PS3 version runs at an average of 48fps and that figure is halved if the option
for 3D is enabled

to me it feels like a PS2 / Xbox game.... dunno, maybe i`m being a bit fussy, but i`ll
try and get to like it more over the next few weeks.
just ****es me off a little that it appears that the PS3 version hasn`t had that much
love lavished on it :(

i think they pointed it firmly in the direction of Arcade Fun, rather than the GFX polish of MW2, imo, it`s MW2 with a team fortress mod, i reckon thats the best way i can describe it.
