Just seen this PC on Mesh site, http://www.meshplc.co.uk/updated/news_mat2400player.htm
it looks fab and has great specs! Any more techy guys agree because I think I am going to make the plunge and go for it. One question, the option is there to upgrade to an 8MB buffer instead of a 2MB one on the 120GB hard drive... is this worthwhile or does it not make a noticable difference?
It comes with 512 MB PC2100 DDR memory 226MHz, with option of upgrading to 1024 (2x512) for £50... worthwhile?
As always, many thanks.
Hi
Looks like a steal (with the Sony DVD burner & Sharp TFT screen)
However, not sure about the on board graphics (personally I`d upgrade that)
I`ve got the AMD XP2400 and it`s great. An easily overclockable chip (mine running 15x140Mhz = 2100Mhz)
I`ve got 1GB (after running with 512MB for a while) and really didn`t notice much difference except in the video editing area where more RAM makes it easier
I personally would get the increased cache HD - I have a WD1200JB and it`s a brilliant drive with the 8MB Cache.
But again it depends on what you would use the drive for (in my case it helps with the video editing again)
All in all, it`s a pretty nice machine.

James - seems like a bargain but a couple of points. The model in the PCPro A list is different to this but is a £100 more - but a better screen/soundcard/speakers and graphics card. As to upgrading on RAM depends what you use it for 512 should be plenty for most apps.
Whichever you choose have a look at the messages in response to the PCPro review of this machine at the bottom of the review. Mesh actually respond to the comments on the board - quite impressive.

Peter
