You can freely get the latest version (1.2.0) on various file sharing networks. Not that I condone such things, of course.

I`ve been using DVD2One [Version 1.1.3] for a while and find it an excellent program, although just started using CloneDVD which is also very good and writes the DVD as well. Both these are well worth their cost. You will still need a ripping program [such as DVD Decrypter or Smart Ripper] before you can use DVD2One 0r CloneDVD.

I`ve found that DVDShrink gives marginally better results than DVD2One. It`s also a lot easier overall, as it decrypts and region-frees the discs as it rips them, and the graphical nature of the interface is a lot nicer to use when authoring or re-authoring. Only thing you have to watch out for is that it doesn`t remove the layer breaks from the IFO files, meaning you get pseudo layer changes even on DVD-5s. This is easily fixed using IFOEdit though.

Chris Thanks for the info. I am new to DVD Burning so could you explain that in lay mans terms. Sorry to be a pain in the arse. i tried to rip snatch using DVd decrypter I got a message saying it would have to use a slower method to rip it. It took 40 mins and turned it into an ISO. Forgive me but whats the difference between iso & ifo. The Burner i have is the sonydw-u10a if that makes any difference.

Thanks

Not sure if I`m allowed to post details here, so I`ll take it to email. I`m in the process of making a "Newbie`s Guide" at the moment, but it`s not quite finished. I`ve done one for turning flippers into single-sided discs with correct subtitles though ;)

As a complete Newbie who acquired a new PC with a DVD burner only this Saturday I wonder whether I might be a candidate for your "Newbie`s Guide" when finished?

I must admit I am struggling with the wealth of information on burning DVDs, I just need an idiots guide that spells it out.

It`s almost done mate. I`ll post a link when done, if that doesn`t break forum rules. The guide is for DVDShrink and IFOEdit, two free programs that are very easy to use (well, IFOEdit is a bit tricky, but not too bad when you have a guide to follow). Took me a weekend of messing about to figure it out, so I understand how confusing it can be.

I`ve written the first part of the guide and done the screen caps, but I need to do the psuedo layer change removal guide and the burning guide. When it`s finished I`d appreciate some feedback from those who use it. Always helps to have some feedback on "readability" etc. Polite suggestions will be welcomed.

I use Recordnowmax to burn though, which isn`t as freely available as Nero etc. Much better for DVD burning though (and burning in general from what I hear). Supposed to be far less prone to errors than Nero.
