Page 1 of Acer laptops

I`ve been looking around for reasonably priced laptops;the main criteria being at least 15" screen and CDRW capabilities.There has been an advert on TV for a PC World deal of £799 for similar spec laptop.I have since found a possibly better spec Acer model for just over £600! What is the general opinion of Acer stuff?

Can`t help you with acer but, it can`t be much longer before Aldi have a new one.(Not Lidl as they won`t take back computers even with a problem). I can only imagine if it`s like their last ones it will be unbeatable & I expect will have DVD recorder as well.

I have an Acer 1300, not a bad little system and was relatively cheap when we bought it.

As nothing has gone wrong with couldn`t say about Acers repairs/returns, but the laptop it self seems fairly solid (if a little plain)

Acer stuff is pretty good to be fair - I am awaiting one of their Laptops as you`d be pretty hard pushed to find better spec for the money.....oh, and don`t worry about the support side - I`ve been selling Acer kit for a while now (about 5 years) and I`ve not had any bad feedback so far......if money was no issue I`d go for an Alienware box as I just love gaming but for now my old-ish PC and my PS2 & X-Box will just have to do :D

Got myself an ACER 230XV.
Display pretty good.
No RPC firmware for multiregioning of DVD drive (SR-8177 same as toshiba laptops)
No problems as yet.
Battery life good for 2hrs watching DVD movie before recharge requirement.
2 year warranty.( 1st year global coverage)
Impressed so far !!!
