Page 1 of how do i fix this !!

Hi everyone my computer got the msblast virus and since i got it back when on forums if i click on a link it does not open , it opened them before the virus .Has something been turned off to stop the links working any ideas anyone .fw600vj

fastest way, start computer as soon as it loads do ctrl,alt,del, and keep watching for msblast to apear (keep shuting it down as it starts) open the search tool from start menu, search for msblast then as soon as it finds it delete it (rember to keep closing it down in taskmanager) and make sure that you have a firewall running & anti-virus then goto microsoft for the patch, this is essential otherwise you will get re-infected within minutes.

Hi ogster thanks for the info i think i have at last got rid of the virus , i downloaded the patch and can now open links, plus my computer will now shut down when asked it used to take about ten minutes or restart then close thanks again.fw600vj

Don`t know if this will help you but...I had to reformat XP home yesterday and when it came to getting back online (150K BB with NTL), as soon as I got on I got online I got the Welchia 32 thing. Luckily I have the MSBLAST & WELCHIA 32 fixer on a floppy so was able to get rid of this...however, after speaking with NTL, they won`t give "support" to anybody who hasn`t got the M$ patch on as they`re protecting their network. Upshot of all this is NTL told me to go to PCWorld :/ and get a disk with these patches on or get NTL will be happy to send me a disk. I went to PCWorld and the guy there said NTL shouldn`t be doing this and they weren`t going to be offering these disks for much longer.
Back online now and had to update approx 50 Megs worth of patches and SP1 from M$...Bless `em :(
