I`m playing it on:
1.4Ghz Athlon
512MB Ram (just 2100 DDR)
GF4 4200Ti.
at 1152x864 with everything whacked up and, except on some explosions in the ship, it`s flyin`. :D Just got out into the open for the 2nd `level` and no probs there either.

RE: HALO:COMBAT EVOLVED
i`ve just tried shutting almost all my background progs (anti-virus-etc) and it`s still the same :(
on a lighter note sj, if you have never played halo before you`re in for a treat if it`s half as good as the x-box version (and the pc version should be better) but you may want to play it in legendry mode to get the most out of it :D

Hi,
I installed this on my sons computer with similar problems. this was solved by upgrading the graffix drivers. He has a geforce 4 card. on my system with a radeon 9500 card it worked first time.
Hope this helps a bit.
i read somewhere that the vertex shaders are switched on by default, and if you amend the command run line to switch them off it will run a lot better. Sorry for being so vague but I can`t remember the full details but google should find you the answer.
I thought the game would rock with the Keyboard/Mouse interface...but it still sucks! >:(
I`ve just started playing this - and it seems great already
The AI of the enemies is really good - and controls are just like all the other first person shooters
Running on an AMD 2600XP, 1GB PC2100 RAM, GeForce 4 Ti4600 128MB
And it`s fixed at 30fps (which I can`t seem to change, but don`t need to anyway)
Edit - Using the latest Nvidia drivers, and running at 1024x768
