Get out of your T-Mobile monthly contract without charge !

Badically, T-Mobile are introducing a £1 fee on all personal (not business) accounts for itemised billing, which goes against their own T&Cs. Essentially, anyone on a contract can get their contract terminated - this is particularly good for anyone just signed up to one !!

Have a read of the whole thread at Money Saving Expert as it explains the T&Cs you need to quote at T-Mobile, as some operators are being awkward about it.

Personally, I`m gonna see if I can get a Sony Ericsson T610 out of it as I`m not too bothered about being stuck with them for another year :D

T-Mobile are introducing a major change to their Ts + Cs by starting to charge £1 extra per month (from 20th of next month) for itemised billing (previously this has been included within the monthly line rental fee).

See: www.t-mobile.co.uk/itemised

They have a clause in their Ts + Cs which allows you to cancel without charge if the cancellation is as a result of them increasing any charges by more than the RPI. This new £1 charge is more than the RPI increase, and so you can cancel at no cost.

This may be of use if you currently have a T-Mobile contract and would like to get out of it for any reason (maybe to take advantage of other offers around at the moment, or you might be tied to a 12 month deal now, but have already received all your cashback from the deal etc.)

If you want to cancel, then don`t use the option they show on their website to change to non-itemised billing - this would mean you`ve accepted the new deal, so wouldn`t be able to cancel on the grounds of it being outside the RPI.

You can cancel immediately when you ring them, and they will refund any monthly rental you have already paid. Make sure they know you are using the RPI clause to cancel!

Thanks for this one. I was able to end my contract 5 months early without penalty.Customer services tried to put me off by saying that I would not be charged the extra £1,but when I insisted they had changed the terms and conditions they agreed to terminate the contract with immediate effect.Tip: save all info that is on your sim to the phone memory before you call to cancel as your sim card is deactivated immediately.
